A Salute to our Fallen Soldier
The members of the Company F Monument committee share in honoring our most recent fallen soldier, US Army Specialist Jason Johnston. We are grateful for his service and ultimate sacrifice on behalf of our nation and community. Our hearts are extended to his family, friends and comrades.
It is with deep regret that we are unable to show our proper respect by lowering the American flag on the grounds of the Medina Armory that tower over the Company F monument to half staff. The equipment that was installed this past year became inoperable due to water entering the flag pole’s base and subsequently freezing the mechanisms that control the flag’s position. It is our top priority to correct this problem as soon as we are able to.
Furthermore, we wish to honor four of our Company F World War II veterans that passed in 2009: Arthur Peter of North Tonawanda, NY, Sergeant Earl E. Coon of Titusville, FL, Private Howard Fitzgerald of Lockport, NY and Private Francis D. Magner of Middleport. We are eternally grateful for the service they provided, along with the other soldiers whose names are inscribed on the Company F monument.
We proudly salute you.
Respectfully,
William A. Menz, Company F Monument Chairman
